Our Mission

SuiteConnect was created to make it easier for beauty professionals to find their own space and for salon suite owners to connect with the right renters.

The beauty industry is built on independence, creativity, and entrepreneurship. SuiteConnect exists to provide a dedicated platform where salon suite owners and beauty professionals can connect more efficiently while building and growing their businesses.

Why SuiteConnect Matters

The beauty industry is full of entrepreneurs.

Every day, hairstylists, barbers, estheticians, nail artists, and other beauty professionals take steps toward building independent businesses. For many, renting a salon suite is one of the biggest milestones in that journey.

But finding the right space — or filling empty suites — hasn't always been simple. SuiteConnect was created to bring the salon suite industry into one dedicated platform where beauty professionals can discover opportunities and suite owners can connect with the right renters more efficiently.

By simplifying how people find salon spaces and industry equipment, SuiteConnect helps beauty entrepreneurs focus on what matters most: growing their businesses and serving their clients.

The Story Behind SuiteConnect

SuiteConnect was founded by April Johnson. April's connection to the beauty industry began early. After high school, she initially attended university to study interior design with the dream of one day opening and designing her own one-stop beauty salon and spa.

At 18, she began working in a spa as a salon & spa coordinator, where she spent more than four years gaining firsthand experience in the day-to-day operations of the beauty and wellness industry. During that time, she also worked in beauty retail and brand sales with companies including Sephora, Lord & Taylor, Estée Lauder, Clarins, and Bloomingdale's.

Expanding Into Finance and Technology

In 2017, April transitioned into the financial industry, working as a personal banker with PNC. Following the pandemic, she moved into the fintech industry and spent five years working with Cash App as a Quality Management Specialist — evaluating risk management and customer service operations, and helping ensure quality standards and positive user experiences across the platform.

A Turning Point

After years working in fintech, April reached a pivotal moment in both her career and personal life. As a first-time mother to her young son, she had spent the past several years balancing professional growth with the responsibilities of building a family. That season prompted a deeper reflection about the kind of future she wanted to create—not only for herself, but for those around her.

Throughout her career, April had worked across multiple industries helping large organizations improve customer experiences through technology and platform operations. But over time, she began to realize she wanted to take everything she had learned and apply it to something of her own.

With a long-standing passion for the beauty industry, April saw an opportunity to bring innovation to a space that thrives on creativity, entrepreneurship, and community. She set out to build a platform that blends technology with the real needs of beauty professionals—creating better tools, better connections, and better experiences for both professionals and the clients they serve.

What began as a moment of personal reflection quickly became a mission: to build something meaningful that empowers beauty professionals while delivering modern, seamless experience.

SuiteConnect was created not only to solve a problem in the salon suite industry, but also to support the independence and entrepreneurship that so many beauty professionals strive for.

The Idea That Sparked SuiteConnect

Not long after this period of reflection, April encountered a problem in the salon suite industry that would ultimately inspire the creation of SuiteConnect.

During a visit to a newly opened salon suite location, she had been invited to share her opinion on interior design ideas for the space. During the conversation, the owner mentioned they were struggling to market their available suites and attract renters.

When April asked what platform they used to promote the openings, the owner explained that they relied mostly on Facebook Marketplace and word of mouth because they didn't have the time, resources, or expertise to focus on marketing or search optimization.

That conversation sparked a simple question:

Why isn't there a platform specifically designed for salon suites?

In other industries, platforms exist to connect people with spaces — like how homebuyers use Zillow or job seekers use Indeed. But in the salon suite world, there wasn't a centralized, easy-to-use marketplace built specifically for the beauty industry.

That realization became the foundation for SuiteConnect.

Building SuiteConnect

SuiteConnect brings together April's experience in beauty, customer service, finance, and technology to create a platform designed specifically for salon suite owners and beauty professionals. By combining salon suite listings with an industry-focused equipment marketplace, SuiteConnect supports the growth of independent beauty businesses.

Looking Ahead

Launching first in the Atlanta metro area with a vision to expand and support beauty professionals and suite owners nationwide.

As the platform grows, the mission remains the same: help beauty professionals build independent businesses and connect with the spaces that allow them to thrive.
